Born in the year of 1968 in Kolkata, he grew up in a Bengali household in eastern fringes of the city of Kolkata. Since his childhood he was a dreamer and showed his creative stints often in the form of scribbles on anything ranging from drawing paper to the walls on drawing room and often got pulled up in the school for day dreaming. But his parents knew that he had an imaginative mind and creative instincts which need to be encouraged. At the age of seven, eight and nine years this kid had three solo exhibitions at Calcutta Information Centre with all the help from his parents. Much appreciated by the people from creative world there was no stopping for him. He continued to earn accolades and awards at different art competitions and exhibitions. His father being a photojournalist by profession he learnt many things in photography by default. Vacations used to be spent in learning the darkroom tricks and techniques from his father. All this while he never went to any Art school nor was trained by any professional.
In 1989 he joined Government College of Art and Craft in the stream of Graphics & Applied Arts. Since then there was no looking back. After graduation he continued his journey in the world of advertising in different MNCs. In between he was stationed with Lowe Lintas Kathmandu for six years but his love for the city pulled him back. At present he is a Senior Creative Director with JWT, Kolkata. But he never forgot his passion for photography. He pursues his passion on weekends and on every possible opportunity. He says he will pursue it till the last days of his life much like his father. He is married with a daughter and encourages her to pursue her passion in the same way his father used to encourage him. Thus continues the journey
This event offers a kaleidoscopic view of his work and an opportunity for us to see the world through his view finder.
